Many things could have been done to stop what happened to the poor people in Halabja. Many people including me think that the bombing was unreasonable. The only reason that the Iraqis bombed Halabja was because they needed more land because they lost so much and because they were Kurds. There are many thins that people and the Iraqis could do to repay the town of Halabja. For example, we could make more memorials and build a nicer town so people can live their in memory of the relatives that they lost. For example, “Inside the building is a rotunda with the colours of the Kurdish flag draped at the centre. A wall of black granite bears the names of the victims of the attack” (Jansenin). There is “a modern circular building with a high ribbed tent-like roof, stands on the outskirts of the city” (Jansenin).  We could prevent this from happening again by not judging people by their religion or taking their land for no reason. If we stop people from judging others for because of where they live, their religion, ethnicity, and looks then we would be able to stop anything in the world including bombings, invasions, and wars. We could also start a program that could raise money for them to make a new and better town. This would show that we care and want to help Halabja and help others who have lost many people in Genocide.
